COME TO INDY FOR THE 2015 ESAAPG MEETING!
The 2015 Eastern Section Meeting of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists will be held September 20-22, 2015 at the Union Station and Crowne Plaza Hotel compIex in downtown Indianapolis, Indiana. Associated events will occur before and after the meeting.
Previous Eastern Section meetings have been held in Indiana, including the 2009 meeting in Evansville and the 1999 meeting which was held in Indianapolis. As in 1999, the host will be the Professional Geologists of Indiana, Inc. (PGI). The 2015 Indy meeting will be a continuation of these past great meetings and a bridge to the future of regional petroleum exploration and production, as well as associated mineral and environmental industries.
Indianapolis has a central location between the Illinois, Michigan and Appalachian basins and the Cincinnati, Kankakee and Finley arches, great interstate, rail and airplane access, and has been called “The Crossroads of America” due to the many intersecting transportation corridors. The historic and renovated Union Station Train Station is a popular and unique location for many meetings and events, and the adjacent former railroad head house has been converted into a modern hotel including renovated Pullman sleeping cars. Many restaurants, clubs, hotels, shopping and other attractions are within a few blocks. Indianapolis is the state capital, and a cultural and business hub, with many colleges and universities in Indy and nearby.
Early Bird Registration Extended!!!
Hotel Block Extended!!!
NOTE: It is our unfortunate luck that the Colts home opener is scheduled for Monday Night Football, September 21. Downtown Indianapolis will be flooded with 70,000 Colts fans looking for the same restaurants and entertainment as AAPG attendees. If you plan on eating out, we suggest reservations in advance before you arrive or wait until after kick-off, which is scheduled for about 8:30. Parking will be limited.
